Amberville version 1.3

Concept:

Amberville is a village set in the Swiss Alps. Because of it's access by road & rail the town is used by the German Army as a command & supply point for troops heading into Italy & Africa. The Allies fly regularly over it on there way back from bombing targets in Southern Germany. The German command has decided it's time to install anti-aircraft equipment such as searchlights & anti-aircraft guns to hinder the air route. The Allies intelligence has intercepted this & now must take action, deep inside enemy territory.

Some info:

The map is based on a Behind Enemy Lines scenario, it supports all current gametypes. I made it with BEL & HQ in mind.

There are 52 Tdm & 32 Dm spawn points, 24 HQ Radios & 7 spots for Retrieval.

The map should be good for up to 20 players hopefully more.

Being in the Alps I haven't used any fog I would assume the air is clear.

There aren't any secret passages as they ain't a secret when ya find em :)

There are messages that should pop up in areas where clip may cross a street or block a tunnel.

You can use 1 side on the trunk of the fir tree near the railline to climb up, I have the wood ladder texture on it however it sounds like metal when ya climb it :-\

The brick texture rock@gt_wall1.dds is from Steiners German Town map as the same stock texture goes mental upon compiling, other than this texture feel free to use the Amberville custom textures most are modified stock textures.

The 45 degree single railline bend shows some sleepers split in spots, it's ok on my radiant map as that is 1 single patch, it seems the compiler is doing the doubling.

The arch of a tunnel portal is doing a similar thing as well.

For some reason if you are in the Chateau while a squadron flys over you won't see them when you go outside although you can hear em.

I tried the backdrop at 512 res to reduce the size of the pk3 file, however the backdrop image quality wasn't as good so I left it at 1024.

The map name is in reference to the amber ale I was consuming while thinking about the map.

My name is Gerard De Natris, I play under the clan name of onor_far_que on Game Arena in Australia. I've mostly played MoH, CoD & BF42.
I've been interested in mapping for a few years but haven't had the time to devote into learning it till recently.
I'm interested in gaining employment in this kind of environment, as I enjoy doing it & I intend on making more maps, but as I've learnt & others already know, they take time to construct, unless you've got the resources so you can devote alot of your time to it.

Cheers & Beers...
